Sr. Solutions Architect, Amazon Leo for Government

<strong>Description<br><br></strong>Amazon Leo is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. The mission of Amazon Leo for Government (ALG) is to enable Leo to provide high speed, low latency, and secure satellite broadband services to United States and allied government customers.<br><br><strong>The Role<br><br></strong>We have an immediate opening for a Sr Solutions Architect to support the Amazon Leo for Government (ALG) team focusing on ANZ Government customers. This position will be part of the ALG team working with Business Development and customers to define Leo Government family of products within Leo’s broadband space network for high throughput, low latency broadband communications. This is a unique opportunity to innovate and define communications technology with few legacy constraints. The team develops and designs the Leo Government products and analyzes performance such as for overall throughput, latency, and system availability. This team also works closely with customers, business development and the engineering team to ensure that the product will meet customer requirements and presents a good business opportunity for Amazon Leo for Government.<br><br>This position may require access to information, technology, or hardware that is subject to export control laws and regulations, including the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Employment in this position is contingent upon obtaining any required export licenses or other approvals from the United States government. As such, the successful candidate must be eligible to obtain any necessary export licenses or approvals based on their nationality, citizenship, and any other factors considered by the applicable export control regulations<br><br>Key job responsibilities<br><br><strong>In This Role You Will<br><br></strong><ul><li> Work with business development and customers to help understand and refine their use cases and operational problems to solve</li><li> Work with Engineering to invent new products or product features</li><li> Write product roadmaps, product description documents, and engineering requirements documents for products and product families</li><li> Create detailed product requirements documents based on an intimate knowledge of the specific customer verticals (local, state, federal, DoD, intelligence community) including use case prioritization, feature definition and product roadmap</li><li> Work with leadership team to set the customer strategy and make appropriate high-judgment trade-offs between features and speed-to-launch</li><li> Research and identify new opportunities to innovate on behalf of our customers</li><li> Anticipate bottlenecks, manage risk and escalations, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints<br><br></li></ul><strong>Basic Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li> 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience</li><li> Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field</li><li> Space systems, satellite communications, and / or terrestrial networking experience.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Preferred Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li> 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience</li><li> Experience working with end user or developer communities</li><li> Experience with presentations and speaking with executives, IT, management, and developers</li><li> Experience within specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics).<br><br></li></ul><strong>Acknowledgement Of Country<br><br></strong>In the spirit of reconciliation Amazon acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community.
