Techno-Functional Lead

Job Description | Retail Logistics, AI & .NET Ecosystem

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking a proactive, seasoned Techno-Functional Lead with deep expertise in Retail Logistics, the .NET ecosystem, and AI integration. This is a hybrid hands-on role (combining functional/technical ownership with leadership) responsible for defining architecture, engineering solution design deliverables, and reverse-engineering complex supply chain processes into actionable technical systems. You will lead cross-functional alignment, bridge business stakeholders with engineering teams, and deliver robust integration frameworks across ERP, WMS, 3PL, and Ecommerce platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Architecture & Hands-on Engineering (.NET & AI)

• Architecture & Design: Own end-to-end technical solution design, integration architecture, and code quality using ASP.NET Core / .NET Core, C#, MS SQL Server, and Azure Cloud.
• AI Innovation: Architect and implement AI-driven features (e.g., predictive analytics, generative AI workflows, intelligent document extraction, or automated routing optimization) to modernize retail logistics processes.
• Integration Patterns: Design robust integration patterns for high-volume enterprise systems (Event-Driven messaging, RESTful APIs, ESB, and middleware).
• Hands-on Leadership: Conduct code reviews, establish technical standards, enforce CI/CD branching strategies, and drive active hands-on development.

Functional Ownership & Requirements Engineering

• Stakeholder Bridge: Act as the primary bridge between business CXOs/stakeholders and development teams, translating high-level business vision into clear Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), functional specs, and user stories.
• Current-State Mapping: Reverse-engineer legacy systems and document current-state architectures to build a single source of truth across complex logistics environments.
• Workflow Engineering: Lead end-to-end business workflow design, system process mapping, and data flow definitions (PTP, OTC, RTR).
• Backlog Management: Own and refine the product backlog across scrum teams, driving prioritization, sprint grooming, and scope alignment.
Retail Logistics & Systems Integration
• 3PL & WMS Alignment: Oversee data mapping and integration between Enterprise systems (ERP, Ecommerce) and 3PL / Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
• Enterprise Data Flow: Map and validate complex enterprise data flows (inbound/outbound logistics, inventory synchronization, order fulfillment, and merchandising).
• Testing & Quality: Lead SIT/UAT defect analysis, root-cause investigations, and solution acceptance.

Executive Governance & Leadership

• Executive Presence: Present technical approaches and architectural roadmaps directly to VPs, SVPs, and CXOs with strong consultative authority.
• Proactive Ownership: Manage cross-functional dependencies, resolve vendor blockers, and conduct risk assessments without needing step-by-step direction.

Key Qualifications & Required Skills

• Technical & Engineering Stack: Strong hands-on experience in .NET / ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework Core, C#, MS SQL Server, RESTful APIs, and Azure Cloud hosting/services.
• AI & Automation Expertise: Hands-on experience or architectural integration of AI/ML capabilities (e.g., Azure OpenAI Services, predictive logistics models, LLM integration, or intelligent automation).
• Domain & Systems Knowledge: Deep domain expertise in Retail, CPG, and Supply Chain Logistics, including direct hands-on integration with ERP, Ecommerce, and 3PL / WMS platforms.
• Architecture & Middleware: Proven background in Event-driven architecture, Message Bus / Middleware integrations, asynchronous communications, and API management.
• Artifact Production: Demonstrated ability to author high-quality Software Design Documents (SDDs), Technical Design Documents (TDDs), BRDs, interface specifications, and process flow diagrams.

Core Role Deliverables

Deliverable Artifact Description & Scope

  • Software Design Documents (SDDs) - Comprehensive technical specifications, architecture blueprints, and interface standards.
  • Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) - Validated functional requirements, user stories, and prioritized product backlogs.
  • Integration & Data Mappings - Detailed schema mappings and event-driven data flow specs (ERP ↔ 3PL / WMS).
  • AI / ML Integration Patterns - Architectural frameworks and POCs for AI-enabled logistics features.
  • Validation & Risk Reports - System process flow diagrams, SIT/UAT defect analyses, and deployment readiness assessments.
