Software Tester - Fresher (WFH)


About the job:

Key responsibilities:

1. Test our website and mobile apps (Android/iOS) for functionality, usability, and performance issues
2. Understand product requirements and write clear test cases and test scenarios
3. Perform functional, regression, smoke, and post-release testing
4. Test across different browsers, devices, and screen sizes
5. Perform basic API testing using tools like Postman
6. Verify backend data in MongoDB using basic queries or MongoDB Compass
7. Log, track, and follow up on bugs and QA tasks in ClickUp, with clear steps to reproduce, screenshots, and logs
8. Work with developers to troubleshoot issues and verify fixes
9. Gradually write and maintain automated tests using Playwright with TypeScript
10. Take part in sprint planning and daily stand-ups over video calls

Other Requirements:

  1. 1. Understanding of software testing fundamentals: SDLC, STLC, test case design, and the bug life cycle
  2. 2. Hands-on practice with manual testing of web and/or mobile applications
  3. 3. Strong attention to detail and a habit of thinking about how users might break things
  4. 4. Clear written communication, since most collaboration happens over chat and task comments
  5. 5. Ability to work independently and manage your own time in a remote setup
  6. Preferred:
  7. 1. Basic JavaScript or TypeScript
  8. 2. Exposure to Playwright for test automation
  9. 3. Basic MongoDB queries (find, filter) or experience using MongoDB Compass
  10. 4. API testing with Postman
  11. 5. Experience with ClickUp or a similar task management tool
  12. 6. Using browser DevTools to inspect errors and network requests
  13. 7. Internship, freelance, or personal project experience in testing (a small Playwright project on GitHub is a big plus)
