- Help improve how AI systems generate software
- Apply professional engineering judgment to training data
- Contribute remotely with a flexible part-time workload
The Senior JavaScript React Code Reviewer Role
OpenTrain AI is hiring Senior JavaScript React Code Reviewers to audit evaluations completed by data annotators who assess AI-generated JavaScript and React code. You will review each submission against the prompt and project guidelines, then verify that the code works and follows secure coding practices.
Your reviews will help identify rating errors, protect the accuracy of training data, and provide concise, constructive feedback. The work includes proof-of-work checks using sandbox or container execution when needed.
- Audit annotator evaluations of AI-generated JavaScript and React code
- Verify that snippets follow the original prompt
- Check whether submissions execute correctly
- Assess security best practices and code quality
- Identify rating errors and provide concise feedback
- Uphold project guideline standards
What You’ll Do
You will combine hands-on development knowledge with structured quality assurance. Reviews should be accurate, consistent, and clearly documented so that annotators and project teams can understand the reasoning behind each assessment.
- Run proof-of-work checks to validate functional correctness and prompt compliance
- Review modern React patterns, state management, and JavaScript or TypeScript implementation details
- Test and debug code using appropriate testing tools and edge-case analysis
- Detect risks involving XSS, CSRF, injection, supply-chain, and permission vulnerabilities
- Evaluate performance, bundle size, rendering behavior, Web Vitals, and accessibility considerations
- Use Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and code-review platforms as part of the review workflow
- Apply rubrics and annotation procedures consistently
- Document findings and mentor developers through concise, constructive feedback
Required Experience and Technical Qualifications
The ideal candidate has 7+ years of professional JavaScript and React development, quality assurance, or dedicated code-review experience. You should be comfortable validating code in execution environments and communicating technical conclusions in written English at B2 CEFR level or higher.
- Deep knowledge of modern React, including Hooks, Context, Suspense, Concurrent features, SSR, and Next.js
- Strong command of Redux, Zustand, and Context plus Reducer state-management patterns
- Fluency in ES2023 syntax, TypeScript, Vite or webpack, and npm, pnpm, or Yarn
- Advanced experience with Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, or Playwright
- Skill in coverage analysis, profiling, debugging, and designing edge-case tests
- Proven ability to identify and mitigate XSS, CSRF, injection, supply-chain, and permission vulnerabilities
- Experience optimizing bundle size, Web Vitals, rendering, and WCAG-compliant UI code
- Comfort with Docker build, run, and exec workflows
- Experience with GitHub Actions or GitLab CI and GitHub pull requests or GitLab merge requests
- Hands-on experience with sandbox or container execution for proof-of-work validation
- Familiarity with rubric-based scoring, Jira or Asana, and annotation workflows
- Excellent written English for concise feedback and documentation
- A record of mentoring developers on code quality and security
Nice-to-Have Experience
Experience in AI evaluation or data labeling can help you understand the annotation context and review workflow, although the core requirement is strong JavaScript and React expertise.
- Exposure to LLM evaluation or RLHF pipelines
- Experience with AI-centric data-labeling platforms such as Labelbox or Scale AI
