Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced IT Analyst Applications (Python Developer - Automation & AI) to join our
Order Fulfillment & Procurement team - CAT IT Division.
To design, develop, and deploy intelligent automation solutions that improve operational efficiency and business outcomes. The ideal candidate will possess strong Python development skills, experience building automation frameworks, integrating enterprise systems through APIs, and leveraging AI/GenAI technologies to create scalable solutions.

The preference for this role is to be based out of Bangalore – Caterpillar PSN

This position requires candidate to work a 5-day -a -week schedule.

Shift Timing: 01:00-10:00PM IST

Key Responsibilities

Python Development

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality Python applications and services.
  • Write clean, scalable, and reusable code following coding standards and best practices.
  • Develop RESTful APIs and integrate with enterprise platforms and third-party systems.

Automation Solutions

  • Design and implement business process automation solutions using Python.
  • Build scripts, bots, and workflow automation for operational and business processes.
  • Automate data extraction, validation, transformation, and reporting processes.
  • Integrate automation solutions with cloud and enterprise applications.

AI & Generative AI

  • Develop AI-powered solutions using Machine Learning and Generative AI technologies.
  • Integrate Large Language Models (LLMs), AI agents, and chatbots into business workflows.
  • Build intelligent decision support systems and predictive analytics capabilities.
  • Evaluate and adopt emerging AI technologies to drive innovation.

Data & Integration

  • Work with SQL/NoSQL databases and cloud data platforms.
  • Build ETL/data pipelines for analytics and AI use cases.
  • Consume and develop REST APIs, web services, and event-driven integrations.

DevOps & Quality

  • Implement CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
  • Perform code reviews, testing, debugging, and performance tuning.
  • Ensure security, compliance, and reliability of solutions.

Collaboration

  • Collaborate with architects, business analysts, product owners, and infrastructure teams.
  • Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance.
  • Prepare technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures.

Required Skills

Technical Skills

  • 5-8 years of hands-on Python development experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Python frameworks such as Flask, FastAPI, or Django.
  • Experience with automation development and scripting.
  • Proficiency in REST APIs and microservices architecture.
  • Experience with SQL databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases.
  • Knowledge of Git, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.

AI & Data Skills

  • Experience with AI/ML libraries such as: Pandas NumPy Scikit-Learn TensorFlow/PyTorch
  • Experience with Generative AI solutions and LLMs.
  • Knowledge of prompt engineering, AI agents, and chatbot development.
  • Understanding of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) concepts.

Automation Skills

  • Process automation and workflow orchestration.
  • API-based integration and event-driven automation.
  • Scripting, monitoring, and operational automation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Experience with Azure OpenAI, GitHub Copilot, LangChain, or similar AI platforms.
  • Certifications in Python, Cloud Technologies, AI/ML, or Automation.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
