WHS Officer - Fulfillment Center Safety
A busy fulfilment center contains moving equipment loading areas powered industrial tools and changing operational activities that require continuous safety oversight The WHS Officer will maintain a visible presence across the site and help employees understand how their daily actions affect workplace safety The role combines preventive controls with rapid incident response Through audits training risk analysis and corrective-action tracking the officer will help protect employees while enabling the operation to meet its productivity and service commitments safely strong Key Responsibilities strong The WHS Officer will monitor daily conditions while developing the systems training and emergency arrangements required for long-term safety improvement Lead site risk assessments for existing and newly introduced activities Establish and maintain the site WHS training matrix Implement site-specific safety standards guidelines objectives and programs Provide daily WHS content for shift briefings and promote a strong safety culture Conduct frequent audits to identify unsafe equipment behavior and processes Work with Operations to eliminate risk exposure and prevent occupational injuries Respond to workplace incidents and occupational injury cases Support area managers during incident investigations Complete Gensuite reports and communicate lessons learned Assist Operations with Gensuite follow-up records and CAPA creation Audit safety record-keeping and verify compliance with global standards and local regulations Monitor personal protective equipment inventory and coordinate replenishment with Procurement Assign monitor and support weekly Key Safety Requirement audits Ensure completion of basic firefighting and first-aid training Inspect powered industrial tools and trailer dock releases each day Monitor the Action Tracking System and follow up on open items Participate in management safety walks and report unsafe acts or conditions Provide daily progress and incident updates to the Country WHS Manager Prepare WHS committee agendas meeting minutes and related actions Review and approve daily permits to work Manage WHS-related procurement requirements and supplier follow-up Prepare emergency response plans and maintain supporting records Organize emergency-response training and practical drills Establish and monitor the site Heat Index controls Support unplanned events operational changes and site-specific safety requests Inspect hazardous-waste rooms spill kits first-aid rooms and other controlled areas strong Ideal Profile strong The preferred candidate is observant decisive and willing to intervene when unsafe conditions are identified They should be able to combine practical technical knowledge with data analysis and clear communication across operational teams Experience related to electrical mechanical electronics and communication or instrumentation and control systems Experience analyzing data and converting findings into practical decisions Ability to conduct risk assessments and detailed workplace inspections Understanding of incident investigation and corrective-action processes Confidence working with operational leaders and frontline employees Ability to prepare accurate safety records reports and meeting minutes Experience using Microsoft Word Excel and PowerPoint is preferred Strong follow-up skills and the ability to manage several open actions Awareness of emergency planning first aid and fire-safety requirements Willingness to maintain an active presence throughout a fulfilment-center environment strong Skills Set strong Workplace risk assessmentOccupational health and safetyIncident investigationGensuite reportingCAPA managementKey Safety Requirement auditingAction Tracking System monitoringPermit to Work controlEmergency response planningSafety training coordinationPersonal protective equipment managementPowered industrial tool inspectionHeat Index monitoringHazardous-waste inspectionMicrosoft ExcelSafety data analysis strong Why Join Us strong This position offers direct involvement in protecting employees within a large and fast-moving fulfilment operation The WHS Officer will have visible influence over site standards employee behavior emergency readiness and the prevention of workplace incidents The role can also build valuable experience with global safety systems operational risk controls and cross-functional improvement programs The preferred candidate is observant, decisive and willing to intervene when unsafe conditions are identified.
