Responsibilities

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the vital link between business stakeholders, product owners, tech teams, and clients to translate impactful business requirements into actionable tech solutions.
  • Requirement Engineering: Gather, document, and validate comprehensive business, functional, and technical requirements aligned with industry best practices.
  • Streamline Processes: Analyze existing workflows and processes, identifying areas for optimization to maximize efficiency and outcomes.
  • Insights Driven by Data: Work with data analytics teams to decipher trends, deliver actionable insights, and guide data-driven decision-making.
  • Solution Implementation: Collaborate effectively with project managers and tech teams to deliver robust, scalable solutions within timelines.
  • Quality & Compliance: Partner in quality assurance and UAT processes while ensuring alignment with powerfully defined business goals and regulatory standards.
  • Documentation: Develop user manuals, KPIs, executive reports, and impactful presentation materials to empower stakeholders.

Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Computer Science, or related fields.
  • A Master’s degree and/or Insurance-specific certifications are a plus.
  • 5-8 years of extensive experience as a Business Analyst, ideally within the insurance domain.
  • Proven exposure to Technology & Analytics Practice or related interdisciplinary teams is preferred.

Technical Proficiency

  • Proficient understanding of insurance processes—policy admin, underwriting, claims management, and compliance.
  • Knowledgeable in tools such as MS Excel/Power BI, Tableau, and analytics platforms.
  • Experience with Agile tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence); familiarity with database principles and data science is an advantage.

Skillset & Competencies

  • Outstanding problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional communicator with the ability to foster collaboration across diverse stakeholders.
  • Prior experience facilitating meetings, brainstorming discussions, and achieving consensus.
  • Highly adaptable to thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment juggling multiple priorities.

Certifications (Preferred but Not Mandatory):

  • CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional).
  • Agile certifications like Certified Scrum Product Owner or SAFe Agile Certified.
  • Insurance-specific credentials (AINS, CPCU) are a solid advantage.

• We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with strong London Market (Lloyd's) insurance expertise and data mapping experience to support business and data transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate will bridge business and technology teams by translating complex insurance processes into clear business requirements, functional specifications, and data mappings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead discovery workshops and gather business requirements from underwriting, claims, operations, finance, and IT stakeholders.

• Produce BRDs, FRDs, user stories, process flows, business rules, acceptance criteria, and UAT documentation.

• Analyze and improve business processes across the insurance lifecycle.

• Perform source-to-target data mapping, data analysis, and define transformation rules for data migration and reporting initiatives.

• Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, Data Engineers, and QA teams throughout project delivery.

• Support solution validation, testing, defect triage, and business sign-off.

 

 

Required Domain Expertise: Strong knowledge of the London Market / Lloyd's ecosystem, including:

• Underwriting, Policy, Claims, Premium Accounting, and Reinsurance

• Delegated Authority, Coverholders, Binding Authority, Bordereaux, Open Market, and Lloyd's reporting

• Insurance data models, business processes, and regulatory/reporting requirements

Required Skills:

• Business Analysis (Requirements Elicitation, Gap Analysis, Process Mapping, Stakeholder Management)

• Strong Data Analysis and Source-to-Target Data Mapping

• SQL for data validation and analysis

• Experience with Agile (Scrum/Kanban), Jira, and Confluence

• Excellent documentation and communication skills
