Senior System Administrator- IT Operations

IT Operations team is responsible to monitor the ITInfrastructure & Batch environment of entire Colruyt Group and to ensureits high availability. We trigger relevant actions to ensure the upkeep of ourIT Infrastructure and act as a first-line support to our serviceconsumers.

We add value to the business by ensuring the issue resolution as fast aspossible and strive to prevent delays/outages in coordination with othertechnical teams. We monitor and support Colruyt Group Pre-Production andProduction environments in 24x7 shifts with a global team presence in Belgiumand India. We are quite active in the following best practices of ITILFramework:

  • Batch& Event Management
  • ChangeManagement

As a Senior System Administrator (Role: Shift Lead) of IT Operations team, you are expected to

  • Guarantee the quality, integrity, maturity,and service orientation towards our service consumers
  • An expert in Mainframe Batch monitoring. Nice to have: Relevant experience in IT Infrastructure monitoring (Eventmonitoring)
  • Have enough awareness of the Infrastructure& Batch environment, can assess the level of impact and capable of addressing them
  • Handle all technical escalations
  • Setup the necessary procedures& documentation
  • Oversee the health of infrastructure systems and provide inputs towards continuous improvements
  • Makes a report of shift operations as needed

Responsibilities & Main tasks: (During your shift window)

  • Capable of executing all tasks as a “MainframeBatch Operator”
  • Monitor different work dashboards (Eg: Batch,Event, Incident…) and trigger appropriate actions
  • Ensure, the other IT operators in your shifttake-up their job as expected (E.g., shift handover's, Clean-up tasks, openincidents, ...)
  • Ensure, the IT Operators follow the available procedures,documentation, & knowledge base
  • Provide break-fix support & act as a technicalescalation point
  • Oversee the management of Batch, Incident, Event& Change handling and required follow-up
  • Deal the complaints from our customers and takesubsequent actions to improve the knowledge, work methods, etc.
  • Take lead in disaster meetings and help thestakeholders to address the issue(s)
  • Up to date w.r.t the knowledge ofInfrastructure/Batch environment
  • Capable to assess the criticality of givensituation and come out with alternatives
  • Quickly adaptable to the ongoing changes in theenvironment
  • Share the knowledge/questions with team orrespective stakeholders
  • Identify the needs (or problems) and triggerrelevant actions
  • Provide input towards possible automation andservice/process improvements

Technical

  • Very good understanding of ITIL V3/V4Fundamentals
  • Experience in working with the tools like BMCControl-M, Microfocus OMI, Dynatrace, Tivoli., etc.
  • Fair knowledge of Windows & Linux OperatingSystems
  • Good foundation of networking concepts
  • Nice to have: Knowledge & experience workingwith different automation tooling within IT Operations
