SDE 3 (Flutter)

We are looking for an exceptional Software Development Engineer III (Flutter) to help build and scale the next generation of HighLevel's mobile platform. This is not a typical Flutter development role. We are seeking engineers who have built large-scale production mobile applications, solved complex architectural challenges, and thrive in highly distributed systems. You will play a key role in shaping the architecture of our mobile platform while leveraging AI-assisted engineering to improve developer productivity and software quality.


As an SDE III, you'll own critical technical initiatives, influence engineering direction, mentor other developers, and deliver scalable mobile experiences used by millions of users across thousands of businesses.


Responsibilities:

  • Design, architect, and build highly scalable Flutter applications that serve millions of end users.
  • Own complete feature development from technical design through production deployment and long-term maintenance.
  • Lead architectural discussions around modularization, scalability, performance, maintainability, and developer experience.
  • Build reusable frameworks, SDKs, shared libraries, and platform capabilities used across multiple mobile applications.
  • Optimize application startup time, rendering performance, memory consumption, and overall user experience.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Design, Backend, Platform, and Infrastructure teams to deliver complex cross-functional initiatives.
  • Drive engineering excellence through code reviews, technical design reviews, testing strategy, CI/CD improvements, and best engineering practices.
  • Mentor engineers through technical leadership, architecture guidance, and knowledge sharing.
  • Leverage modern AI-assisted development tools to improve coding efficiency, automated testing, debugging, documentation, and code quality.
  • Develop robust engineering workflows that incorporate LLMs responsibly while minimizing hallucinations and ensuring production-grade reliability.
  • Stay current with Flutter, Dart, mobile architecture, AI engineering, and software development best practices, introducing new technologies where they create measurable impact.


Requirements:

  • 5-8 years of professional software engineering experience.
  • 4+ years of hands-on Flutter/Dart development in production environments.
  • Proven experience building and maintaining large-scale consumer or enterprise mobile applications with significant user traffic.
  • Strong experience designing modular, maintainable, and scalable mobile architectures.
  • Deep understanding of Flutter internals, rendering pipeline, widget lifecycle, isolates, asynchronous programming, and performance optimization.
  • Strong knowledge of state management approaches, including Bloc, Riverpod, Provider, MobX, or similar modern architectures.
  • Experience integrating REST APIs, GraphQL, or gRPC/Protocol Buffers in Flutter applications.
  • Strong understanding of software design principles, clean architecture, SOLID principles, and design patterns.
  • Experience building automated testing frameworks, including unit, widget, integration, and end-to-end testing.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, release automation, Git workflows, and production monitoring.


AI Engineering Expectations:

  • We strongly believe AI will redefine software engineering productivity. We are looking for engineers who already embrace AI in their daily workflow.
  • Ideal candidates should have experience using AI-powered development tools for code generation, refactoring, test generation, debugging, documentation, code review, and developer productivity.
  • Experience with hallucination mitigation techniques, prompt engineering, retrieval-based context, structured code generation, and automated validation workflows is highly desirable.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience building Flutter platforms, SDKs, or reusable component libraries.
  • Experience working in high-scale B2C or SaaS product companies.
  • Open-source contributions to Flutter, Dart, or AI developer tooling.
  • Experience with Firebase, Crashlytics, analytics platforms, feature flags, and observability tooling.
  • Exposure to backend technologies and distributed systems.
  • Experience building AI-enhanced mobile experiences.
