Recruiter (Intermediate To Senior), India and North America Desks

Hour Consulting Corporation is a women-led global recruitment and HR consulting firm, operating since 2004 across Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom and India. We recruit across every industry, function and level, from individual contributors to C-suite, and we pair experienced recruiters with modern AI-assisted tooling.

Our North

America desk is our longest-running practice, with multi-year EdTech, gaming, proptech and technology clients. Our India desk has worked with clients Pan India, from Kolkata and Bangalore to Mumbai, Delhi NCR and Pune, serving Indian companies directly and global firms building teams in India, and it is growing fast Our India desk is growing fast. This role sits across both to start.

THE ROLE

You will run full-cycle recruitment for our Canadian, US and Indian client mandates, covering both technical and non-technical hiring. Your mornings and early afternoon go to India searches. From mid-afternoon you are live with Toronto hiring managers and candidates during their morning, so you can run intake calls, interviews and offer conversations in real time rather than over email.

This seat is built to grow into a leadership role. Someone who runs both desks well has a clear path to leading the India recruiting team in the future, with account ownership, a say in which mandates we take, and recruiters to hire and lead as the desk expands.

Working hours are roughly 11am to 8pm IST, Monday to Friday. This gives a daily overlap of two to three hours with Toronto. It is not a night shift.

Depending on the account, you may work as a standard agency recruiter or as an embedded fractional recruiter sitting inside a client's talent team, a model that gives you real depth on one business rather than surface-level exposure to many.

We are looking for someone at the intermediate-to-senior end: past the learning phase, able to own requisitions independently, comfortable being the person the client talks to about their pipeline, and ready to grow into a lead role as the desks expand.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Own end-to-end recruitment for Indian, Canadian and US client mandates across technical and non-technical functions: intake, search strategy, sourcing, screening, submission, interview coordination, offer and close.
  • Run intake calls with hiring managers to clarify the real requirement, calibrate the market and agree the search strategy and timeline.
  • Source through Naukri, LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean and X-ray search, ATS databases, referrals, communities and AI-assisted sourcing tools.
  • Screen candidates on skill, motivation, compensation expectations, notice period, location preference and fit, and write submission notes a hiring manager actually finds useful.
  • Manage candidates through the full process: interview scheduling across time zones, feedback loops, offer negotiation and pre-joining engagement through notice period to reduce drop-offs.
  • Recruit for technical roles including software engineering across stacks, DevOps and cloud, data engineering and data science, QA, product and design.
  • Recruit for non-technical roles including sales, marketing, finance and accounting, HR, operations, customer success and support.
  • Keep the ATS clean and current and give clients clear weekly pipeline and market updates.
  • Advise clients honestly on market reality, compensation benchmarks, availability and time-to-fill rather than simply agreeing to the brief.
  • Work as an embedded fractional recruiter on client accounts where the engagement calls for it.
  • Contribute to our India talent database and recruiting playbooks, and mentor junior recruiters as the team grows.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
  • 4 to 8 years of end-to-end recruitment experience from an agency, RPO or in-house talent team, including Indian market hiring. Prior recruiting for US or Canadian clients is a strong preference.
  • Demonstrated delivery on both technical and non-technical roles. We need genuine range, not one specialisation.
  • Excellent spoken and written English, with the confidence to lead a call with a North American hiring manager or a senior candidate.
  • Strong sourcing across Naukri, LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean and X-ray search and job boards, hands-on ATS or CRM experience, and the persistence to find candidates who are not on the first page.
  • Good grasp of Indian compensation benchmarks, notice-period realities and counter-offer dynamics, plus working familiarity with North American hiring norms (full-time, contract, C2C, W2) or the ability to learn them fast.
  • Ability to work the 11am to 8pm IST window consistently, with a stable home working set-up and reliable internet.
  • Ownership mindset and self-discipline. This is a fully remote role and delivery is measured on outcomes.
NICE TO HAVE
  • Agency or RPO background with several concurrent clients, or experience as an embedded recruiter inside a client team.
  • Executive or leadership search experience.
  • Exposure to global capability centre hiring.
  • Comfort using AI tools for sourcing, screening and outreach. We are an AI-plus-human shop and we invest in tooling.
WHAT WE OFFER
  • Fixed CTC of Rs. 5 to 8 LPA plus a performance bonus linked to placements and quality of delivery.
  • Fully remote working, Pan India, on a daytime schedule with a Toronto overlap rather than a night shift.
  • A defined path to a leadership role, leading the India recruiting team with account ownership. Both desks are being built now, so early team members shape how they run
  • Real North American client exposure and mandates that build a genuinely global recruiting CV.
  • A clear growth path. Both desks are being built now, and early team members grow into lead and account-ownership roles.
  • Direct access to leadership and a flat structure. You are a recruiter, not a resume-forwarding step in someone else's process.
  • A women-led, values-driven organisation running for over twenty years, with investment in AI-assisted tooling and a social impact programme, HouR Impact.
