Production Engineer - Manufacturing - Defence

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Production Engineer to lead and optimize our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in machining, fabrication, welding, and sheet-metal processes, combined with proven leadership in production planning, process improvement, and team management.
Production Planning & Execution
Lead production planning, scheduling, and budgeting to ensure timely delivery.
Oversee issuance of parts, materials, and tools as per production requirements.
Coordinate across machining, welding, and fabrication teams to optimize workflows.
Develop, implement, and refine manufacturing methods, operation sequences, and process flows.
Identify critical processes and design jigs/fixtures to improve efficiency and quality.
Drive process improvement initiatives (5S, Kaizen, waste reduction, cost optimization).
Quality & Compliance
Collaborate with Quality Engineers to define in-process quality standards and checks.
Support documentation including PDI, packing lists, process sheets, and MIS reports.
Interpret complex 2D/3D manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and engineering calculations.
Apply knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, welding methodologies, and machining processes.
Guide teams on correct welding techniques, fabrication methods, and machining practices.
Supervise, mentor, and manage shop-floor manpower to achieve production goals.
Act as a key liaison between engineering, production, and quality teams.
Bachelor’s degree / Diploma in Mechanical, Production, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- 4+ years of experience in production engineering (preferably in fabrication/machining industries).
- Strong knowledge of fabrication, welding, machining, and sheet-metal manufacturing techniques.
- Skilled in interpreting 2D/3D CAD drawings and conducting engineering calculations.
- Proven track record in implementing 5S, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, and process improvements.
- Excellent leadership, planning, and team management skills.
- Strong communication and reporting skills (MIS, production dashboards, etc.).
