National Testing Agency Initiates Revamping Structure with Senior Recruitment, Young Professional Hiring via UPSC Pratibha Setu

National Testing Agency (NTA) has introduced a robust scheme for institutional strengthening by advertising recruitment for four senior General Manager vacancies and opening applications for 16 Young Professionals via the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Pratibha Setu portal. This action is the first step for the reforms initiated based on the recommendation of the High Level Committee of Experts headed by Prof. K.

Radhakrishnan.The purpose of the recruitment drive is to strengthen NTA's academic, technological, and operational capacity and enhance the governance structures to support the integrity, transparency, and security of all national-level assessments.

NTA has published recruitment advertisements for General Managers on a Contract basis for four positions.

General Manager – Assessment Research and Development & Psychometrics

This Role Will Be Responsible For

  • Research and Psychometrics for assessments
  • Development of a question bank
  • Normalization
  • Methods for Equating and Calibration
  • Computer Adaptive Testing (CAT)
  • AI-based Assessments

Interested candidates should possess a PhD in Psychometrics, Educational Measurement, Statistics, or a related field and should have 12 years of post-doctoral experience, of which 5 years should be in a senior management position in a national/international testing organization.

General Manager – Test Centre Network and Operations

Responsibilities The chosen candidate will be responsible for NTA's extensive examination centre network spanning over 500 cities within India along with a few international centres.Key responsibilities would involve the following:

  • Test centre empanelment
  • Capacity planning
  • Quality assurance
  • PwBD candidate accessibility
  • Examination-day operations
  • Coordination at State and District level

The applicant would have extensive experience of operating more than 200 centres.

General Manager – Information Security (Chief Information Security Officer)

The CISO will have the responsibility of NTA's cybersecurity infrastructure with the following compliance in focus:

  • Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023
  • The Information Technology Act 2000
  • CERT-In
  • Goes beyond the above and is responsible for the operation of a 24x7 Security Operations Centre (SOC).

Applicants should have 12 years of information security with 5 years of senior management experience and have the following certifications CISSP, CISM, CISA or equivalent.

General Manager – Vigilance, Investigation and Forensics The Incumbent Will Have The Responsibility Of

  • Internal vigilance
  • Investigation of examination malpractices
  • Digital forensics
  • Public coordination with CBI, IB, ED, State Police and Cyber Crime units
  • This position also supports the enforcement of the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024.

Applicants should have at least 15 years of experience in investigation or law enforcement, 5 years of which should be in a senior position.

NTA to Hire 16 Young Professionals via UPSC Pratibha Setu

NTA, For The First Time, Will Be Inducting 16 Young Professionals Via The UPSC Pratibha Setu Portal.

The Distribution Of The Positions Is

As Follows

  • 12 for Academic Research
  • 2 for Legal Research
  • 2 for Finance and Accounts

Eligibility is restricted to candidates who have appeared for the Civil Services Examination and are registered on the Pratibha Setu portal.

The Young

Professionals are to be appointed for a consolidated monthly salary for a period of 24 months, extendable up to 36 months based on their performance.

More Recruitment to Follow

As stated by NTA, more recruitment and empanelment processes will be conducted in the upcoming weeks covering the 10 functional verticals as suggested by the High-Level Committee.

An Expression of Interest (EOI) has also been released by the agency for the fresh empanelment of Subject Matter Experts and Translators, which aims to advance the academic and examination framework of the agency.
