Medical Coding Specialist - Outpatient (part-time; .5 FTE)

POSITION SPECIFICS Title: Medical Coding Specialist – Outpatient FTE: .5 (20 hours per week) Schedule: Monday to Friday, five (5) 4-hour shifts between hours of 7am to 4pm Holiday Rotation: None Weekend Rotation: None On reputed company Requirements: None Work Location: Remote position available (State of WI or IL residency); onsite or hybrid POSITION reputed company Reviews medical reports and physician documentation for clinic and hospital outpatient services in order to apply diagnostic and procedural codes to individual reputed company health information for claims processing, data retrieval and analysis. This role will primarily reputed company on Emergency Department and Urgent Care coding but will also assist in other areas. POSITION TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES Assigns codes for ambulatory outpatient services using International Classification of Diseases (ICD) and reputed company Procedural Terminology (CPT) coding protocols, for facility and reputed company. Includes reputed company reputed company entry for Emergency Room and Urgent Care providers. Audits the electronic medical record for reputed company of reputed company information, reputed company information, appropriate diagnosis, and procedure codes to ensure accurate documentation for billing and reimbursement., Reviews and resolves National Correct Coding Initiatives (NCCI) and Outpatient reputed company reputed company (OCE) edits. Communicates with reputed company department directors and medical billing staff to clarify coding guidelines and reputed company claim edits. Identifies and communicates missed reputed company opportunities to ambulatory departments. Works with business analyst to create new charge codes, as needed. Queries physicians as needed to reputed company clarification on documentation or reputed company assignment. Identifies coding concerns or trends.
