1. Job SummaryThe IVF Nurse is responsible for providing specialized nursing care to patients undergoing fertility evaluation and IVF/ART procedures. The role involves patient coordination, medication administration, procedure assistance, monitoring, documentation, infection control, and providing emotional support throughout the treatment journey. - 2. Key Roles & ResponsibilitiesPatient Care & CoordinationReceive and assess patients attending the IVF/fertility department. - Explain treatment-related instructions clearly to patients as directed by the doctor. - Coordinate patient visits, investigations, procedures, and follow-ups. - Maintain patient comfort, privacy, dignity, and confidentiality. - Provide appropriate support and reassurance to patients during treatment. - IVF Procedure SupportAssist doctors during IVF-related procedures such as follicular aspiration, embryo transfer, and other ART procedures. - Prepare the procedure room, equipment, instruments, and required supplies. - Ensure all required consumables and emergency equipment are available. - Follow proper pre-procedure and post-procedure protocols. - Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures as instructed. - Medication & InjectionsAdminister prescribed injections and medications accurately and safely. - Maintain proper medication records and treatment schedules. - Educate patients regarding prescribed medication schedules and precautions. - Monitor and promptly report any adverse reactions or unusual symptoms to the doctor. - Monitoring & DocumentationMonitor vital signs and patient condition as required. - Maintain accurate nursing notes, treatment records, medication charts, and procedure documentation. - Ensure timely updating of IVF cycle-related records. - Maintain confidentiality of all patient information. - Infection Control & SafetyFollow hospital infection-control policies and standard precautions. - Maintain cleanliness and sterility of procedure areas and equipment. - Handle biomedical waste according to hospital protocols. - Ensure safe handling and storage of medicines and medical supplies. - Patient EducationProvide patients with instructions regarding medications, investigations, procedures, and follow-up visits. - Explain pre- and post-procedure precautions as instructed by the treating doctor. - Escalate patient concerns or complications promptly to the concerned doctor. - CoordinationCoordinate effectively with IVF consultants, embryologists, laboratory staff, reception, pharmacy, and other departments. - Ensure smooth patient movement and timely completion of treatment-related activities. - Communicate any changes in patient condition or treatment requirements promptly. - 3. Required QualificationsGNM / B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized institution. - Valid nursing registration as applicable. - Previous experience in IVF, fertility, gynecology, OT, or reproductive medicine will be preferred. - Freshers with good clinical knowledge and willingness to learn may also be considered. - 4. Required SkillsGood clinical and nursing skills. - Knowledge of medication and injection administration. - Good communication and patient-handling skills. - Ability to work calmly in a clinical environment. - Strong attention to detail and documentation skills. - Positive teamwork and coordination abilities. - Compassionate and professional approach toward patients. - Basic computer knowledge. - 5. Working ConditionsFull-time hospital-based position. - May require rotational shifts depending on departmental requirements. - The nurse must maintain professional conduct, punctuality, confidentiality, and adherence to hospital policies at all times.
