Our healthcare services team provides outsourced clinical and administration services to our clients which includes medical and hospital billing, clinical coding, virtual assistants in various roles such as medical receptionists, nurses and accounting professionals.

We need the services of an experienced clinical coder to ensure clinical accuracy and compliance in hospital admission documentation and billing.

Role Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced ICD Coder to join our remote coding team. This role involves reviewing medical records and accurately assigning ICD-10-AM, ACHI, and ACS codes for hospital procedures and diagnoses, ensuring they meet all compliance and funding standards.


Requirements

Key Responsibilities
  • Review clinical documentation to assign accurate and complete ICD-10-AM and ACHI codes
  • Abstract relevant data from medical records, including diagnoses, procedures, and DRG grouping
  • Ensure coding meets Australian coding standards (ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS)
  • Collaborate with clinicians or medical staff if clarification is needed
  • Maintain high coding accuracy and productivity levels as per internal KPIs
  • Participate in audits and quality assurance activities
  • Keep up to date with the latest coding updates and guidelines

Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Certificate or diploma in Clinical Coding or Health Information Management
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in ICD-10-AM coding, ideally for Australian hospitals
  • Strong understanding of Australian Coding Standards (ACS) and DRG classifications
  • Experience working with electronic health records (EHRs) and coding software
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English
  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines

Preferred (but not essential)
  • Experience using Medical Wizard software
  • Previous remote working experience
  • Familiarity with hospital funding and billing processes in Australia
