Head of Digital Performance / Digital Team Leader

B2B Growth Agency | Australian & New Zealand Clients | Remote

Brighta Group is an Australian B2B growth agency helping ambitious businesses turn strategy, brand, digital marketing, websites and CRM into measurable commercial growth.

We are looking for an experienced Head of Digital Performance / Digital Team Leader to take ownership of our Digital Business Unit and lead the performance of our SEO, Google Ads and digital marketing team.

This is not a role for someone who simply manages tasks, prepares reports or waits for clients to tell them what to do.

We need a commercially minded digital leader who asks:

What commercial result is the client trying to achieve and is our digital strategy actually helping them achieve it?

The Role

You will be accountable for the performance, quality and commercial effectiveness of Brighta's digital marketing delivery across our portfolio of predominantly B2B clients in Australia and New Zealand.

You will lead digital specialists, review campaign performance, challenge underperformance, identify opportunities and ensure our team is proactively recommending what needs to happen next.

Your success will not be judged by how busy the team is.

It will be judged by whether:

  • campaigns are delivering measurable commercial outcomes;
  • client digital strategies are improving;
  • problems are identified before the client identifies them;
  • specialists are being properly challenged and developed;
  • work is completed accurately and on time;
  • clients understand what is working, what isn't and what we are doing about it; and
  • Brighta is retaining and growing successful client relationships.
What You Will Own 1. Digital Performance

Take ownership of performance across:

  • Google Ads / Paid Search
  • SEO
  • Local SEO / Google Business Profile
  • Conversion optimisation
  • Landing pages
  • Website performance
  • Lead generation
  • Analytics and tracking
  • GA4 and Google Tag Manager
  • Search Console
  • Looker Studio / reporting
  • Marketing attribution
You do not need to personally execute every campaign, but you must be technically strong enough to audit the work, challenge specialists and know when something isn't right. 2. Commercial Outcomes

We are not interested in reporting impressions, clicks and rankings without explaining what they mean commercially.

You must be able to connect digital activity to:

Traffic Leads Qualified Opportunities Pipeline Revenue

You will regularly ask

  • Are we targeting the right audience?
  • Is the traffic commercially relevant?
  • Are leads converting?
  • What is the cost per qualified opportunity?
  • Where are leads dropping out?
  • Is tracking accurate?
  • What should we stop doing?
  • What should we test next?
  • Where can we create a better commercial result for the client?
3. Digital Team Leadership You will lead and hold accountable our digital specialists.

This includes

  • Setting clear expectations and priorities
  • Reviewing campaign strategy and execution
  • Conducting regular performance reviews
  • Coaching and developing specialists
  • Identifying capability gaps
  • Improving processes and standards
  • Ensuring deadlines are met
  • Maintaining accurate task and time tracking
  • Escalating risks quickly
  • Preventing recurring mistakes
We expect a leader who raises standards rather than accepts excuses. 4. Client Strategy

You will work closely with our Client Services team to provide senior digital thinking for clients.

You must be comfortable

  • joining client strategy meetings;
  • explaining complex digital issues simply;
  • challenging assumptions professionally;
  • recommending changes based on evidence;
  • presenting performance clearly;
  • discussing commercial objectives with business owners and senior managers; and
  • taking ownership when results are off-track.
Our clients are predominantly B2B businesses, so strong B2B marketing experience is highly desirable. Who We Are Looking For

You will probably have 7+ years of digital marketing experience, including meaningful experience leading specialists, campaigns or a digital team.

Agency experience is strongly preferred.

You should have strong working knowledge across:

  • Google Ads
  • SEO
  • GA4
  • Google Tag Manager
  • Google Search Console
  • Conversion optimisation
  • Landing pages
  • Lead generation
  • Marketing funnels
  • Reporting and attribution
But technical knowledge alone will not make you successful at Brighta. We are specifically looking for someone with a:

Commercial Mindset

You understand that marketing exists to help a business grow.

You can look beyond campaign metrics and understand:

  • the client's business model;
  • their target market;
  • lead quality;
  • sales conversion;
  • customer acquisition economics;
  • revenue objectives; and
  • where marketing can create the greatest commercial impact.
The Person We Want You are likely to be someone who:
  • Takes ownership without needing constant supervision
  • Challenges poor performance rather than explaining it away
  • Identifies problems early
  • Is naturally curious about why something is or isn't working
  • Makes decisions based on data
  • Communicates clearly and confidently
  • Is comfortable challenging senior people respectfully
  • Sets high standards for yourself and others
  • Is organised and disciplined
  • Follows through on commitments
  • Moves quickly when something needs fixing
  • Understands that accountability comes with leadership
You must have excellent spoken and written English and be comfortable communicating regularly with Australian and New Zealand clients. This Role Is Probably NOT For You If:
  • You prefer being given detailed instructions before taking action
  • You primarily measure success through tasks completed
  • You avoid difficult conversations
  • You wait until monthly reporting to identify campaign problems
  • You rely completely on specialists to tell you whether their work is good
  • You are uncomfortable being accountable for results
  • Your experience is primarily B2C/eCommerce with limited understanding of B2B lead generation
  • You believe good reporting can compensate for poor commercial outcomes
Working With Brighta Brighta operates with clients primarily across Australia and New Zealand.

This is a full-time remote role based in India, and you must be able to work sufficient crossover hours with the Australian business day for leadership, team and client meetings.

We are building a high-performance team and are looking for people who want significant responsibility, accountability and the opportunity to grow with the business.
