Government & Defence Sales Manager: Fitness, Sports Science & Rehab Equipment

Please read the first three lines before applying.

This is a field sales role, not a desk role. You will spend 15 or more days a month travelling across India, walking into government departments, armed forces establishments, sports academies, universities and hospitals, and opening the first conversation about fitness, sports science and rehabilitation equipment. If you are looking for an office job where enquiries arrive by email, this is not it.

Fixed salary is Rs 50,000 per month, plus performance incentives on closed orders, plus company paid travel and stay. Please apply only if that structure works for you.

About Grand Slam Fitness

Grand Slam Fitness has been in the health and fitness industry for close to 35 years, with a presence in over 20,000 gyms across India. We represent Turbuster, TRUE Fitness, TuffStuff, Wattbike, Training Wall, Landice, Octane Fitness and XPT, and we are India's only exporter of outdoor fitness equipment. Our work spans central and state government bodies, armed forces establishments, sports authorities, universities, medical colleges, rehabilitation departments and hotels.

What you will actually do

  • Open doors from cold. Identify and physically reach the people who decide: directors of state sports departments, SAI centre heads, Command Sports Offices and unit establishments in the Army, Navy and Air Force, police and paramilitary welfare setups, university and medical college administrations, and heads of PM&R and physiotherapy departments.
  • Make the first pitch in person. Explain what modern fitness, sports science and rehabilitation equipment does, to officers, doctors, physiotherapists, coaches and engineering staff.
  • Track live requirements on GeM, CPPP and state e-procurement portals, and bring real opportunities back to the team.
  • Gather what the technical team needs to build a specification: room sizes, user numbers, sport or clinical purpose, budget head and timeline.
  • Follow the file through sanction, tender, technical evaluation and order.
  • Run a disciplined territory plan and a weekly travel plan.
  • Report your pipeline honestly. We would rather know early that something is dead.
Who this role is for
  • Retired armed forces personnel (Officer, JCO, NCO or Subedar) who understand how units, welfare funds, unit sports and Command Sports Offices work, and who are comfortable walking into an establishment and starting a conversation.
  • Field sales people from medical equipment, lab equipment, physiotherapy, sports goods, institutional furniture or IT hardware who already sell into government.
  • Anyone who has opened a government or institutional account from a cold start and can describe exactly how they did it.
Who this role is not for
  • Anyone who wants to work from the office and handle incoming enquiries.
  • Anyone whose sales experience is only private gyms, corporate gyms or retail.
  • Anyone who cannot travel 15 or more days a month, including overnight and multi day trips.
  • Anyone whose government experience means uploading documents to a portal on someone else's instructions.
Must have
  • Minimum 2 years of field B2B sales, with real exposure to government, defence, PSU or institutional buyers.
  • Willing and able to travel 15 or more days a month across India.
  • Based in Delhi NCR, or willing to relocate. Reporting is on site at our Noida office.
  • Able to hold a conversation with senior officials, directors, colonels, doctors and coaches.
  • Graduate in any discipline.
  • Fluent Hindi and working English.
Good to have
  • Ex servicemen background.
  • Existing contacts in state sports departments, SAI, armed forces sports or welfare setups, medical colleges or PM&R departments.
  • Working knowledge of GeM, CPPP, tender documents, EMD and technical bid submission.
  • Valid driving licence.
  • Any exposure to fitness, physiotherapy, rehabilitation or sports science equipment.
What we offer
  • Rs 50,000 per month fixed salary.
  • Performance incentives on orders closed, over and above the fixed salary.
  • Travel and stay for official tours covered by the company.
  • Full technical, specification and tender support from our internal team, so your time goes into relationships and closing rather than paperwork.
  • A portfolio of international brands you can defend on quality without exaggerating.
  • Direct working access to the Director. Decisions here do not take three weeks.
