Role Description The Freelance / Contract Position – Microsoft 365 Content Migration Solution Architect (8+ Years) is a full-time role based in Bengaluru with a hybrid work model, allowing a mix of on-site and work-from-home. The role involves designing end-to-end content migration strategies within Microsoft 365, including SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, and related services.

The Solution

Architect will lead discovery and assessment of existing content repositories, define information architecture, and plan migration waves, tools, and governance. Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with stakeholders to capture requirements, creating detailed solution designs, overseeing migration execution, managing risks and issues, and optimizing performance and user experience post-migration. The position also requires documenting best practices, guiding technical teams, ensuring compliance and security standards, and providing ongoing technical leadership throughout the engagement.

Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical skills to assess legacy content, identify dependencies, and design efficient Microsoft 365 migration solutions.
  • Experience in contract negotiation and working within contractual agreements to align deliverables, timelines, and expectations with clients.
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging stakeholders, translating technical concepts into clear language, and providing status updates and recommendations.
  • Hands-on expertise in contract management, including tracking milestones, managing scope changes, and coordinating with internal and external teams.
  • 8+ years of experience in Microsoft 365, SharePoint, or related content management and migration projects, ideally in solution architecture roles.
  • Deep knowledge of Microsoft 365 ecosystem, including SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, security, compliance, and governance features.
  • Proficiency with migration tools and frameworks (e.g., SharePoint Migration Tool, third-party migration solutions, scripting with PowerShell).
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment in Bengaluru, managing on-site collaboration and remote work with equal productivity.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Relevant certifications (such as Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert or similar) are an advantage.
