About the Project
We are a US-based AI software company serving global users, including customers and data principals in India. We urgently require a seasoned Data Privacy & Regulatory Compliance Consultant to conduct a comprehensive compliance audit and implement an end-to-end framework aligned with India's Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023.
This is a one-time, paid advisory project with a fast turnaround.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables
Gap Analysis & Audit: Map existing user data pipelines, telemetry, third-party APIs, and AI model ingestion workflows against DPDP mandates.
Consent & Governance Architecture: Structure compliant notice frameworks, multi-lingual consent records, and Data Principal rights workflows (access, correction, erasure).
Grievance Redressal Setup: Design a practical grievance redressal mechanism and advise on the appointment\/obligations of a Data Protection Officer (DPO) or representative.
Policy & DPA Drafting: Review and update our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, internal handling SOPs, and cross-border Data Processing Agreements (DPAs).
AI & Cross-Border Advisory: Provide clear operational guidance on international data transfers and Data Fiduciary\/Processor classifications under Indian law.
Required Skills & Experience
Proven track record in Indian data privacy laws, specifically the DPDP Act, 2023 (and IT Act \/ SPDI rules).
Hands-on experience advising US or cross-border B2B\/B2C SaaS & AI software companies.
Deep understanding of AI data pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and product-level privacy engineering.
Strong legal drafting and risk-assessment capabilities.
