Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare annual financial statements under UK GAAP and/or IFRS, including high-quality working papers and audit coordination
  • Maintain accurate bookkeeping and general ledger records for multiple client entities, including posting journals and completing reconciliations
  • Produce ad hoc and periodic reporting (e.g., cash reconciliations, audit confirmations, loan schedules, investor reporting)
  • Partner with the administration teams to support transaction set-up and ongoing day-to-day SPV operations
  • Liaise with external parties such as auditors, trustees, custodians, and investment advisers to support reporting and audit requirements
  • Act as a point of contact for clients on routine accounting matters, escalating issues appropriately to senior team members
  • Maintain timely and accurate time recording to support client billing and internal reporting
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by suggesting practical ways to improve controls, quality, and efficiency across daily tasks

Required Qualifications

  • Experience delivering client service in an accounting, finance, or professional services environment
  • Experience in capital markets accounting, SPV accounting, fund accounting, or financial services in Jersey (or a similar jurisdiction)
  • Working knowledge of UK GAAP and/or IFRS, including preparation of accounts and supporting schedules
  • Actively studying toward (or recently started) a professional accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, or equivalent)
  • Strong Excel skills and confidence using Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise deadlines, and apply sound judgement with attention to detail
  • Clear, professional communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and with external providers

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with multi-jurisdiction structures (e.g., Jersey, Ireland, Cayman, Bahrain) and related reporting expectations
  • Experience using Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision) or similar accounting systems
  • Prior experience supporting audit delivery for a portfolio of entities

Career Path

Career path opportunities may include progression within Capital Markets Accounting (Client Accountant → Senior Client Accountant → Assistant Manager/Manager) or broader mobility into funds, corporate services, or specialist roles (e.g., reporting, process improvement, or client relationship management). People leadership and technical specialist tracks are both available, supported by learning resources and development opportunities at CSC.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Analyze financial data and provide insightful reports to support decision-making.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and providing excellent service.
  • Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and support the audit process.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices, implementing improvements where necessary.
  • Support the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
  • Ensure timely and accurate billing and collection of fees.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and adhere to data protection regulations.
  • Perform other ad-hoc duties as required by the management team.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing professional qualifications such as ACCA, CA, or equivalent.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant financial software.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with clients and colleagues.
  • A proactive and self-motivated approach to work, with a willingness to learn and develop.
