Role Summary

This role includes administration and technical leadership for Workday Adaptive Planning. The position ensures system integrity, optimizes consolidation and planning processes, manages integrations with Datawarehouse and ERP’s, drives automation, streamlining of metadata, reporting improvements, & end user support.

Key Responsibilities

Adaptive Planning Responsibilities:

  • Own the configuration and ongoing optimization of Adaptive models, including dimensions, levels, hierarchies, attributes, versions, and assumptions.
  • Administer and support modeled and cube sheets, including advanced formula development (lookups, allocations, driver-based logic).
  • Manage Data Agent processes and integrations; coordinate data flows, refresh schedules, and dependencies.
  • Own data mapping tables, transformations, and reconciliation controls; proactively monitor, triage, and resolve data load exceptions.
  • Maintain and enhance alternate reporting hierarchies to support evolving business and management reporting needs.
  • Design, build, and support Dashboards, Hubs, and Reporting solutions using HTML reporting and OfficeConnect.
  • Administer role-based security, including access provisioning, periodic reviews, and compliance with governance standards.
  • Partner with IT and EDW teams on schema changes, performance tuning, and data lineage; document interfaces, dependencies, and SLAs.
  • Support forecast, budget, and commit cycles, including version management, locks, workflow configuration, and calendar orchestration by partnering with the Finance team and ensuring timely version creation & management, updating assumptions and loading source data
  • Ensure integrity of financial data by performing tie-outs to consolidation system; investigate and resolve mapping and timing variances.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including playbooks, SOPs, data dictionaries, and cutover/runbook materials.
  • Lead user enablement through training, office hours, and ongoing support; provide Tier 2/3 issue resolution.
  • Drive continuous improvement of the Adaptive platform, including scalability, performance optimization, and expanded enterprise adoption.
  • Support expansion of Adaptive to non-finance users by enabling standardized reporting, dashboards, and governed self-service capabilities.
  • Partner with FP&A and business stakeholders to translate planning and reporting requirements into scalable system design.
  • Support audit and compliance requirements, including change management, access controls, and documentation readiness.

Qualifications:
  • 5 years’ experience with Adaptive Planning Configuration & Administration
    • Ability and experience administering a production environment
  • Workday Adaptive Planning certifications (Essentials, Integrations, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience managing integrations, automation, and reporting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Information Systems.
  • Strong understanding of general accounting principles, financial consolidation, and planning.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with Workday Adaptive Planning Data Agent, including secure connectivity, scheduled integrations, source-to-target mappings, and troubleshooting failed data loads.
  • Experience with Adaptive integration patterns, including JDBC connections to EDW/ERP systems, secure file transfers, REST APIs, and automated data pipelines.
  • Strong working knowledge of SQL and relational data structures, with the ability to investigate data issues across source systems, EDW tables, mapping logic, and Adaptive load results.
  • Experience designing and maintaining Adaptive modeled sheets, cube sheets, dimensions, levels, attributes, assumptions, versions, and alternate reporting hierarchies.
  • Advanced Adaptive formula development experience, including lookups, allocations, driver-based calculations, multi-dimensional logic, and scalable model design.
  • Ability to establish report governance standards, including folder taxonomy, naming conventions, refresh schedules, certified report catalogs, and report lifecycle management.
  • Knowledge of SOX compliance and audit requirements.
  • Ability to manage technical projects and coordinate across Finance and IT teams.
Success Metrics:
  • On-time close and forecast cycles with zero critical system errors.
  • Automated processes reducing manual effort by X%.
  • High user satisfaction scores.
