The role will be responsible for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closures, balance sheet integrity, statutory compliance coordination, and implementation of robust accounting controls and processes.</p>Key Responsibilities<p><strong>1. End-to-End Closure of Books</strong></p><ul><li>Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closure of books of accounts within defined timelines.</li><li>Ensure accurate recording of all financial transactions, including revenue, expenses, provisions, accruals, depreciation, and other adjustments.</li><li>Prepare and review journal entries, ledger scrutiny, trial balance, and financial schedules.</li><li>Ensure proper cut-off procedures for revenue, purchases, inventory, expenses, and project-related transactions.</li><li>Drive timely reconciliation and resolution of open accounting items.</li></ul><p><strong>2. Financial Reporting & MIS</strong></p><ul><li>Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including the Profit & Loss Account, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statement.</li><li>Develop financial schedules, supporting statements, and management reports.</li><li>Analyse financial variances against budgets, forecasts, and previous periods.</li><li>Provide insights into profitability, cost movements, working capital, and financial performance.</li><li>Ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness of financial data presented to management.</li></ul><p><strong>3. Balance Sheet Integrity & Reconciliations</strong></p><ul><li>Review and ensure timely reconciliation of bank accounts, customer and vendor balances, intercompany accounts, advances, loans, fixed assets, and statutory ledgers.</li><li>Monitor aged outstanding balances, suspense accounts, and unreconciled items.</li><li>Validate provisions, accruals, contingent liabilities, and other balance sheet estimates.</li><li>Ensure appropriate documentation and supporting evidence for all material balances.</li><li>Establish periodic balance sheet review mechanisms and accountability for closure of open items.</li></ul><p><strong>4. Revenue, Cost & Inventory Accounting</strong></p><ul><li>Ensure accurate revenue recognition in accordance with applicable accounting standards and contractual terms.</li><li>Review purchase accounting, direct costs, overheads, project costs, and cost allocations.</li><li>Coordinate with operations, procurement, sales, and project teams to validate financial transactions.</li><li>Review inventory valuation, stock adjustments, work-in-progress, and cost of goods sold, wherever applicable.</li><li>Identify accounting discrepancies and implement corrective actions.</li></ul><p><strong>5. Statutory Compliance & Audit Coordination</strong></p><ul><li>Ensure accounting records are maintained in accordance with applicable Indian Accounting Standards / Accounting Standards and company policies.</li><li>Coordinate with internal auditors, statutory auditors, tax consultants, and other external stakeholders.</li><li>Facilitate timely preparation of audit schedules, reconciliations, confirmations, and supporting documentation.</li><li>Support GST, TDS, income tax, and other statutory reconciliations in coordination with the relevant compliance teams.</li><li>Track audit observations, ensure timely resolution, and strengthen internal financial controls.</li></ul><p><strong>6. Process Improvement & Internal Controls</strong></p><ul><li>Develop and standardise accounting SOPs, month-end closure checklists, and financial reporting templates.</li><li>Establish clear timelines, responsibilities, and review mechanisms for the closure process.</li><li>Identify process gaps, recurring errors, and opportunities for automation.</li><li>Strengthen maker-checker controls, documentation standards, and approval workflows.</li><li>Support implementation and optimisation of ERP/accounting systems.</li></ul><p><strong>7.
