Senior AWS Developer – Amazon Connect & Salesforce Service Cloud Voice Role Overview We are looking for a Senior AWS Developer to build, enhance, and maintain solutions across a broad AWS estate, including serverless applications, data and integration pipelines, infrastructure automation, and cloud contact centre capabilities. A significant part of the estate is built on Amazon Connect and integrated with Salesforce Service Cloud Voice, so proven production experience in this area is essential. However, this is a broader AWS engineering role and is not limited to a single product. This is a hands-on engineering role. The candidate will design and develop solutions, automate manual processes, integrate AWS with enterprise systems, troubleshoot distributed systems, and work directly with business stakeholders and operations teams to turn requirements into reliable working solutions. Key Responsibilities 1. Serverless Development & Automation Design and develop serverless applications using AWS Lambda with Python and Node.js. Work with API Gateway, DynamoDB, Step Functions, SQS/SNS, AppSync/WebSocket, and Secrets Manager. Automate manual operational processes end-to-end through scheduled or self-service automation. Build integrations between AWS and enterprise systems such as Salesforce, ServiceNow, and on-premise applications. Design and implement secure APIs and connectivity between AWS and enterprise platforms. Own the quality and maintainability of solutions, including error handling, logging, testing, and documentation. 2. Contact Centre Engineering – Amazon Connect & Service Cloud Voice Design, develop, and enhance Amazon Connect solutions across voice, chat, email, and task channels. Build and maintain: Contact flows IVR journeys Routing logic Queues Routing profiles Hours of operation Callbacks Voicemail Post-call surveys Build and maintain Salesforce Service Cloud Voice integration, including: Contact centre setup CTI adapter Softphone Omni-Channel behaviour Screen pops Record matching Automate Service Cloud Voice user onboarding, including: Licences and permission set groups Personas, profiles, and roles SSO Contact centre membership Quick connects Routing profiles Queue assignment Develop Amazon Lex bots and leverage Amazon Polly, Transcribe, Comprehend, Contact Lens, and Amazon Q in Connect for self-service and agent-assist capabilities. Build agent and supervisor experiences using the Contact Control Panel (CCP), including embedded and custom agent desktops. Troubleshoot the complete call path across telephony, AWS services, integration layers, softphone, and network, and eliminate recurring issues. 3. Data, Integration & Reporting Build and maintain data pipelines using: AWS Glue Jobs and Crawlers Kinesis Athena S3 RDS/Aurora Serverless DynamoDB Deliver data migration workloads from on-premise systems to AWS data platforms. Develop real-time and historical reporting, dashboards, and wallboards using Amazon QuickSight or equivalent BI platforms such as Tableau/Snowflake. Build reporting for contact centre and operational metrics. Process event and audit data, including CloudTrail logs and contact records. Design appropriate storage layers for operational, contact centre, and audit data. 4. Infrastructure, Deployment & Resilience Define and manage infrastructure as code using Terraform, CloudFormation, and/or AWS SAM. Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using: AWS CodePipeline CodeBuild CodeDeploy Jenkins Equivalent CI/CD tools Provision, manage, and cleanly decommission AWS compute and storage resources, including: EC2 S3 EBS Storage Gateway Design and implement backup, retention, and disaster recovery strategies. Implement: S3 cross-region replication Lifecycle and archive policies Configuration version control Contact flow version control Build monitoring and alerting using CloudWatch and SNS, including log forwarding to observability and SIEM platforms. Apply AWS security best practices, including: Least-privilege IAM Secrets management Encryption at rest and in transit 5. Collaboration & Enablement Work directly with business stakeholders and operations teams to understand requirements and deliver practical technical solutions. Translate business requirements into scalable and maintainable AWS solutions. Document technical solutions through: Architecture documentation Runbooks Onboarding guides Conduct training and knowledge-transfer sessions for client and operations teams. Enable non-technical teams to independently manage routine operational activities. Mandatory Skills & Experience 5+ years of hands-on experience developing solutions on AWS. Strong development experience in Python and Node.js. Production experience developing AWS Lambda-based serverless applications. Strong working knowledge of core AWS services, including: Lambda API Gateway DynamoDB S3 EC2 RDS/Aurora SNS SQS Kinesis Glue Athena CloudWatch CloudTrail IAM Secrets Manager Experience with Infrastructure as Code, using Terraform and/or CloudFormation/AWS SAM. Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines. 3+ years of production experience delivering Amazon Connect contact centres, including: Contact flows Routing profiles Queues Quick connects IVR design CTR data Hands-on experience integrating Amazon Connect with Salesforce Service Cloud Voice, Salesforce CTI, or Open CTI. Experience with Service Cloud Voice user onboarding and screen-pop integrations. Experience integrating AWS with enterprise platforms such as Salesforce, ServiceNow, or similar systems through APIs. Strong understanding of SQL and NoSQL data modelling and querying. Experience building analytics, reporting, dashboards, or BI solutions. Experience designing AWS backup, retention, and disaster recovery solutions. Strong understanding of AWS security and Well-Architected best practices, including least-privilege IAM and customer data protection. Strong troubleshooting skills across distributed systems, integrations, AWS services, telephony, and networking. Strong communication skills with the ability to work directly with stakeholders and train non-technical users. Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or higher, or AWS Certified Developer. Salesforce Administrator certification. Generative AI delivery experience, including: Amazon Q Amazon Bedrock Document processing Agent assist Chatbot development Migration experience from Genesys, Avaya, or Cisco to Amazon Connect. Experience with two-way SMS and digital channels, including Amazon Pinpoint / AWS End User Messaging and SNS. Experience with observability or security tools such as: Splunk Grafana GuardDuty Security Hub Experience working in regulated or high-volume environments with compliance requirements such as: PCI-DSS GDPR Call recording and consent requirements
